What’s Your Why?

Hard Work, Time, Energy and Patience

These are two things my students have been hearing from me for many years? I ask them the “what’s your why” question early in the school year. Why are you here?

  • Is it to get by
  • Is it to get a quality education
  • Is it because you have to

Then I always tell them and my teams I coach that no matter what kind of raw talent, skills, athleticism, brain power or attitude. Nothing will ever beat Hard Work, Time, Energy and Patience when it comes to accomplishing your why. These intangibles are the driving force behind the successful people and the non successful. Those that make it in life to a higher level push themselves with these type of moral codes and out work and out smart others. Too many students, especially now do not take their high school opportunity serious and fail to build the skills they need to be that successful adult.

When it comes to life events and happenings we all need to know “What is our Why”. Relationships, Health, Marriage, Finances, Careers, Jobs, Hobbies, Family, Friends, and Faith require us to know out why and follow a daily regimen or code that pushes us to be successful in these things.
