There are moments in the quiet expanse of the night when the boundary between the physical world and the unseen realm grows wonderfully thin. Last night was one of those moments. The house was silent, wrapped in the deep, velvety dark of the early morning hours, when the air shifted. It did not grow cold, as one might expect in a ghost story; rather, it became thick with a profound, radiant stillness.
I turned my head, and there he was.
Stepping toward me with a grace that seemed to defy the very laws of gravity and space was an angel. He was draped from head to toe in a robe of the deepest, most majestic purple—a color that radiated royalty, mystery, and divine wisdom. The fabric seemed to absorb the shadows around him, pooling like liquid dusk, yet it covered his entire frame save for one arresting feature: his face. His face was not made of flesh and bone, but of pure, concentrated light. It was a luminosity so blindingly bright that I could not trace the contours of his features, yet it was entirely devoid of harshness. Instead, it emanated an intense, enveloping warmth, like standing before a hearth on the first freezing day of winter.
He looked directly into my eyes, bridging the infinite chasm between the celestial and the mortal, and spoke a single, resonant word that vibrated in my very chest:
“Fifty-five.”
Then, just as softly as he had arrived, the light began to recede, the purple robe dissolving into the shadows, leaving me breathless in the quiet room. But his message lingered, humming in the atmosphere like a tuning fork.
In the hours since that midnight visitation, I have meditated deeply on that number. The number 55 is not merely a digit; it is a profound cosmic signifier. It signifies significant, undeniable change in your life. It is whispering—or rather, declaring—that the things that once satisfied me, the old routines, the comfort zones, and the identities that made me who I was, will soon be gone. They are not being ripped away out of cruelty, but rather out of necessity, cleared away like autumn leaves to make fertile soil for what is to come.
It is telling me to look resolutely toward the future, bracing myself for a seismic shift. Seeing this number should not fill me with dread; rather, it should excite me, galvanize me, and help me prepare my mind, body, and soul for the continuing growth of spiritual awareness I am currently undergoing. As it is often understood, 55 is a powerful twin flame number, mirroring alignment and transition, and it tells me that I must continue to make better health decisions.
To say this applies to my current reality is an understatement; it fits like a key in a customized lock. For months now, I have been in the process of losing weight, reshaping my body, and reclaiming my physical vitality. The angelic visitation validated this struggle, reminding me that for me to live my best life, I must have all three pieces of the puzzle perfectly in line.
Spiritual growth, physical wellness, and mental wellness are the three foundational components to a happy life for me going forward. You cannot build a house on a single pillar; all three must stand tall and strong to support the weight of my evolving destiny.
This alignment requires difficult choices, particularly regarding how I spend my most precious, finite resource: time. For years, I have been a coach and a teacher. It is a noble profession, one that has defined large swaths of my identity and brought immense fulfillment. But seasons change, and as the angel’s message reverberates in my mind, I realize it is getting time to seek other opportunities and potentially retire from the coaching side of my life.
Coaching is a jealous mistress. I work very hard at it, pouring my soul into the development of others, but it comes at a steep cost—it takes lots of time away from my family. Those are hours I can never get back, moments with my loved ones that are constantly compromised by the demands of the whistle, the playbook, and the locker room.
At the same time, I am expanding into new territories. I am doing work at night with live streaming and writing, creative endeavors that spark my passion and feed my spirit. Yet, these too take lots of time and energy. The beauty of these digital frontiers, however, is that both of those areas are growing weekly, monthly, and yearly. They represent the future. They represent the shedding of the old skin. Because of this explosive growth, I must seek them out more than I do now, diving headfirst into the digital stream rather than dipping my toes in at the edges.
The number 55 is big in my life right now. It is a neon sign flashing across the landscape of my destiny, and it must be pursued and honored. I cannot ignore the man in the purple robe, nor can I dismiss the warmth of that light that pierced the darkness of my bedroom.
As I look ahead, I am reminded of a profound truth: we are all architects of our own awakening. Change is rarely comfortable, but it is always necessary for metamorphosis. As the ancient proverb reminds us, “The butterfly does not mourn the loss of the caterpillar, for it knows that wings were always the destination.”
My wings are forming now, forged in the fires of spiritual awakening, physical discipline, and the courage to step away from what is comfortable in pursuit of what is authentic. I am letting go of the old coaching identity to embrace the writer, the creator, the family man, and the spiritual seeker.
I urge you, reader, to look for Angel numbers in your own life. Pay attention to the synchronicities, the recurring numbers, the whispers in the dark, and the sudden influx of warmth when you least expect it. They are trying to guide you. They are offering you a chance to live your best life, just as the angel in the purple robe has offered me.
Open your eyes. Open your heart. The future is calling, and its name is transformation.
