Conquering Spiritual Warfare: How to Stand Against Darkness

Standing in the Light: My Battles with Darkness and the Power of God’s Armor

The spiritual realm is real, active, and constantly moving around us. If you are walking a path toward righteousness, transformation, and a deeper relationship with God, you may have already realized something profound: the closer you get to the light, the more fiercely the darkness tries to pull you back.

As someone called to be a light warrior, a dreamer, and a visionary, I’ve experienced this firsthand. God has given me gifts, and I fully intend to use them for His glory—to help people, heal, and bring light into dark places. But because of this calling, I have a designated crew of demonic entities assigned to try and turn me away. They want me to use my gifts for bad, to surrender to destruction, and to abandon my faith.

They know who is in charge, and it infuriates them. But they will never see God’s glory, because their chosen path of sin leads only to ruin.

Anatomy of a Spiritual Attack: Recognizing the Enemy in Dreams

Last night, they showed up in my dream again. Spiritual warfare often plays out in the subconscious, where our guards can sometimes be down, but our spirits remain awake. This crew has a very distinct, unsettling hierarchy, and their presentation tells a story about how spiritual deception operates in our world.

The Leader: He stands about 5’10”, weighs around 240 pounds, and appears to be in his mid-40s, sharply dressed in a gray suit with a vest. He is a heavy smoker, a smart aleck, and oozes arrogant confidence. He’s the one who does the talking, the taunting, and the tempting.
The Henchmen: Flanking the leader are two younger guys, around their mid-30s, dressed strictly in all-black suits, black shirts, and dark glasses. They look like classic “Men in Black,” but there is nothing professional or good about them—they are mean, nasty, and menacing.
The Muscle: The scariest of them all. He stands over 7 feet tall, weighs in excess of 500 pounds, and never says a word. He is pure intimidation. His job is to use his massive frame to block my view of the good light when I try to engage with them. Over time, he has shape-shifted in my dreams—appearing as an aggressive sports coach, an intimidating security guard, and even a twisted, dark “genie” character.
The Freight Elevator to Nowhere

In last night’s dream, I watched a tragic scene unfold. People—unsuspecting souls—were walking toward an old-fashioned freight elevator like the ones you’d see in a historic, decaying building. One by one, they stepped inside.

The two men in black ushered them in, while the leader stood off to the side, eating, smoking, and laughing at their gullibility. The 7-foot muscle stood on constant guard, ensuring no one escaped the line.

I knew immediately who these entities were and where that elevator led. Backing away, I tried to warn the people, shouting at them not to step inside. That’s when the smoking leader turned his attention to me. He blew a cloud of smoke in my direction, gave a chilling smile, and delivered a threat:

“The only way to become what you want is to meet the master.”

He was referring to the Devil, dangling a false promise of power and fulfillment. But those poor souls stepping onto that elevator were heading down a path that only led to darkness, isolation, and spiritual death. I have zero intention of ever meeting the Devil, let alone working for him.

The Power of Naming God: How Demons Flee

When the leader threatened me, I stood my ground. I told them to stay away from me in the name of God.

That made them furious.

Demons rely on mockery, laughter, teasing, and intimidation to make you feel small. They want you to doubt your worth and your calling. But the moment you invoke God as your primary defense and call on His authority, their demeanor changes instantly. They go from mocking to enraged—and then, they have to flee.

God holds absolute control over all demonic forces. The spiritual truth is simple: The closer you get to God, the farther they must distance themselves from you. Conversely, the further you stray from God, the more aggressively they will swarm you, trying to break your spirit and turn you into a lost soul.

As I invoked God’s name, they laughed defensively, realizing they had lost. They moved on, and I backed away safely and woke up.

Equipping Yourself as a Light Warrior

The world is locked in a constant, unseen battle for souls. The spiritual realm is not a playground, and it is certainly not for the weak to dabble in carelessly. It takes everything a light warrior has—anchored entirely in faith—to fight these forces off and dispatch them back to where they came from.

If you are facing your own battles, trials, or spiritual opposition, do not rely on your own strength. Lean heavily on the Creator who fashioned you for a purpose.

James 4:7: “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

Ephesians 6:11: “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.”

Keep your eyes fixed on God, keep your heart aligned with goodness, and fight the darkness with His light. He has a divine plan for your life, and no amount of demonic opposition can derail what God has destined for you to achieve for His glory.
