Success In Life- Give it Everything

Todays quote by the world famous football coach Vince Lombardi.  He was a master at getting people to follow him, believe in his system and they would run through a brick wall for that man.  He wasn’t perfect, but the strived to be and expected the same from his players, coaches and staff.  In order for us to achieve greatness we must first think we can be great.  I am not talking about being cocky, but am talking about being confident.  I talk to my student athletes alot about attitude and the difference in cocky and confident.  Many players will talk about it, but not all of them can be about it.  They can talk a big game but when it comes time to produce, make that play, beat that opponent, pin that guy and succeed at their assigned task that cocky attitude often fails them because they did give it everything, prepare and expect to win.

I want student athletes that have an attitude of success, that can walk the walk and talk the talk.  I want them to give it all, buy in, prepare, work hard and win, lose or draw know that they left it all on the field, the mat, the court and in the classroom.  As coaches we are teaching our student athletes to set goals, work hard and be successful.  They take these skills into real life as functional adults that make a difference in the lives of their family, friends and community.  So as parents, coaches, teachers, pastors, leaders, business owners and community influencers lets all take Coach Lombardi’s advice and succeed by giving it everything we can, everyday.  We can do anything we put our mind too and it we give it everything and work towards our goals with intention them we will show confidence to the world and contribute great things to our family, community and world.
