For those familiar with the area a few years back Lake Lure was devastated by floods from a gigantic Hurricane which did massive damage to the Lake itself. Knooby was not seen or found after the Lake levels were lowered to near 1-2 feet. The area at the damn was still pretty deep so some say Knobby stayed in the deeper waters near the damn or may have moved via river to another mountain lake.
