My most memorable concerts were Prince/Sheila E in the mid 1980’s. The Purple Rain Tour had great music and Prince was a great performer and guitar player. Another very memorable concert was Styx (Dr. Kilroy Tour) in the 1980’s. Third would be Garth Brooks in the 1990’s, as well as George Jones and Conway Twitty. I went for many years without going to a concert as my kids were expensive, we were just busy and didn’t have the funds at times. The wife and I caught Kiss in concert and that was an awesome show. We plan to go and catch Luke Bryan and Jason Aldine this coming year when they tour. We also plan to catch as many old 80’s and 90’s bands that come close enough before they all retire or quit running the road.
Ideally, my bucket list of 80’s is Tesla, Skid Row, Night Ranger, G&R, Dokken, Billy Squier, and many others. I plan to catch some of the 90’s groups like the Gin Blossoms and others also if they come close to NC. I am pretty sure I had some other concerts I saw but years have flown by and I forgot some of them.
Others I remember: America, Seals and Crofts, Temptations, Fantastic Shakers, 38 Special, Joan Jett, Dolly Parton, Steely Dan, Marshall Tucker Band, Frankie Valley/Four Seasons, Chris Young, and a few others. Now that I think about it, I have seen a lot of shows and groups. Some that I have forgotten and some that I remember.
