Why America Deserves More Appreciation

I hear and see so much negativity about America on social media. I honestly do not understand how people view the greatest country in the world as so bad. I see what I consider to be lies about lots of political talk and cultural issues. I see young people falling for the lies and deceit of the mass media. I see people hating on others. I see people hating on leaders. I see people hating themselves. I see people having a pity party and feeling sorry for themselves. Well IMO, this is what America is about and what makes it so great. You do not have to agree and may not. That is what makes part of being an American important and special. So the next time you open that social network page and see all the pity, madness, sadness and issues. Simply move on and let those people have their pity party and live in a dream world of “America being so bad”.

1. Foundational Freedom and Liberty: The U.S. Constitution guarantees individual rights, including freedom of speech, religion, and the press. We see it everyday, especially now in this politically charged environment. The wild thing is many of the things and countries people are protesting for and about hate America and the way we have the rights we do!
2. Economic Opportunity: As a global economic powerhouse, it fosters entrepreneurship, investment, and technological advancements like the internet. If you can dream it, you can achieve it. Nothing is free and it takes lots of time, energy and patience to become successful in any country.
3. Diversity and Cultures: America attracts people worldwide, fostering a diverse, innovative society. We are a mosh posh of people from all over the world. We embrace cultural differences, races, religions and thoughts. Just because your morals do not match mine, does not mean we cannot get along or be supportive of those differences. We simply agree to disagree and move on.
4. World Call Education and Research: Home to many of the world’s top universities and leading research institutions. We have some of the leading edge companies and technology in the world. Embrace it and chase it!
5. Military Might and Global Power: Possesses a powerful military that helps maintain global security and stability. We are strong and can handle anyone that comes at us. Being strong and powerful should not be scary for our very people.
6. Natural Resources and Variety of Lands: Abundant natural resources, including fertile land, vast energy sources, and easy access to international shipping via two oceans. We have lots of energy, resources and other things that can make our lives better. We just have to manage it better.
7. American Spirit of Optimism: A culture that encourages perseverance, hard work, and the pursuit of the “American Dream”. I love America and still think it is awesome and not bad. Stand up, work hard, do good and live will be good for you.
8. Entertainment: Dominates global media, with American film, music, and television influencing cultures worldwide.
9. Medical and Scientific Breakthroughs: Leading the way in, for example, space exploration and medical research.
10. Philanthropy and Family: A strong culture of charitable giving and volunteering to help those in need.
