If you had the power to change one law, what would it be and why?

I would change laws regarding violent offenses to make the penalties more severe and harsh. We need those folks that do those things, especially repeat offenders to know that their actions will have severe consequences. Sitting in jail for years to me is not enough. We need to get back to making an example of people that are repeat offenders of violence, drugs, alcohol, driving drunk and harming/killing others. We are soft on crime and it has people scared to walk in the local mall parking lot or the nearby Walmart. I will stop at this as I may offend someone as if so, get over it. Accountability for repeat offenders has to be more severe. Breaking major laws like murder, rape, pedophilia and terror is a no go in my opinion.
